About Dr. Sam Hsu

Sam Hsu, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University in 2001 and completed his undergraduate studies in Biology, with an emphasis in physiology, at the University of California, Davis. His special field of interest is myopia management. Dr. Hsu decided to become an optometrist because his mother had a retinal detachment. He wanted to work with patients to help control their myopia progression to prevent further ocular diseases. Dr. Hsu is a people person, and he says it has been an amazing opportunity to get to know so many families for so many years and to see their children grow into adulthood. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Hsu loves spending time with his wife and their two sons and being active in their church. He also enjoys collecting Lego and Transformers toys with his boys, exploring, and traveling.
