About Dr. Sarah Dunalewicz
Sarah Dunalewicz, DO is originally from Kansas City, but moved to the East coast to complete a bachelor’s in neuroscience at Mount Holyoke College in Western Massachusetts. She then moved back to the midwest to complete her medical degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She subsequently fell in love with Colorado while completing clinical rotations in Denver. She completed residency at Baystate Medical Center back in Massachusetts, where she received multiple awards for Female Pelvic and Reconstructive Surgery, Minimally Invasive Gynecology, Family Planning, and Midwifery Collaboration in Obstetrics. These awards reflect her broad interests in this incredible field of medicine, and she feels honored to be able to continue to provide these services to patients in the South Denver area.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, yoga, and biking. She is excited to get back out into the Rockies, and continue to explore the beautiful landscape of Colorado with her parter and her adventurous, goofy pup. She is also looking forward to continuing to explore the ever-evolving Denver food scene.

The appointment lacked thoroughness. I came in as a new patient seeking information on perimenopause and treatment. Despite completing a pre-visit questionnaire, I had to repeat the same information to the NP.
The doctor then briefly stated I was in menopause—without discussing my symptoms—and reviewed treatment options. I raised concerns about the lack of blood work and requested tests. She agreed to a basic metabolic and Vitamin D panel, citing common deficiencies in Colorado. I also mentioned past thyroid issues and asked about hormone levels (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone), but she said the planned tests would provide enough insight.
She prescribed medication and only ordered blood work after my request, still not addressing the hormone concerns. Now I have lab results with no explanation and the office has yet to contact me to discuss. She asked for a virtual mtg in one month which gave the impression that there is no real interest in treating my specific needs.

My appointment at South Denver OB/GYN was great. Dr Sarah Dunalewicz did a thorough examination and listened to my concerns. I didn't feel rushed, but the appointment was still quick. The staff was also pleasant.
