About Dr. Scott Kimmerly
Scott Kimmerly is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He has been with Peachtree Orthopedics since 2009. Prior to that, he was an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Emory University. Before that, he was on staff at the Steadman-Hawkins clinic in Vail, Colorado. His clinical interests include arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee, as well as general orthopedics and trauma. Dr. Kimmerly is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and holds a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
A native of Tennessee, Dr. Kimmerly received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He attended medical school at the University of Tennessee. From there he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Emory University. While there, he assisted with the sports medicine coverage of both Georgia Tech and Emory University. After Emory, he completed a one-year fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at the prestigious Steadman-Hawkins clinic in Vail, Colorado. While in Vail, he assisted in the medical care of elite athletes at the professional and Olympic levels, as well as with the care of the Denver Broncos professional football team. Following this, he embarked on a traveling fellowship in sports-related foot and ankle injuries, visiting leaders in the field across the country. He returned to Steadman-Hawkins afterwards and was a member of the orthopedic staff until his return to Atlanta. He served on the staff at Emory University as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery for two years before joining Peachtree Orthopedics in 2009.

The appointment went well although. Dr.Kimmerly said he did remove all the fluid from the ganglion cyst he didn't. I will be back to get all the fluid removed.
