Dr. Sean Frydman, PhD

Psychologist
NY
I'm a postdoctoral fellow, working with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, relationship challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, stress and burnout, and life transitions. I've received advanced clinical training at nationally recognized cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) centers, with specialized experience using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to treat OCD and evidence-based approaches for anxiety disorders. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. Together, we'll work to better understand what's keeping you stuck, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that help you create meaningful, lasting change.

Getting to know Dr. Sean Frydman

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-based. I believe that meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, curiosity, and mutual respect. Every person who comes to therapy has a unique story, so I tailor treatment to your individual needs, goals, and strengths. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and psychodynamic principles, I'll work with you to better understand the patterns that may be keeping you trapped while helping you develop practical skills to create lasting, meaningful change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we work together, you can expect a thoughtful, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can openly explore whatever challenges have brought you to therapy. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop healthier and more effective ways of coping, and build the confidence to navigate life's difficulties with greater clarity and resilience. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, OCD, relationship concerns, depression, or a major life transition, I'll work alongside you to create a personalized treatment plan that helps you move toward the life you want to live.
