What should a new client know about working with you?

Many of us spend years chasing certainty, perfection, or the hope that if we just think harder, worry more, or get everything "right," we'll finally feel at peace. Therapy offers a different path. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership rooted in curiosity, compassion, and evidence-based care. Rather than focusing on "fixing" you, we'll work together to better understand your experiences, identify the patterns that keep you stuck, and build a life guided by your values rather than by fear. I don't believe we become ourselves through change. I believe we become ourselves through discovery. I specialize in working with adults experiencing OCD, anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism, grief, panic, and related concerns. I also provide comprehensive psychological evaluations, including assessments for adult ADHD and autism, diagnostic clarification, and cognitive and personality testing. Many of my clients are intelligent, thoughtful, and highly capable, yet exhausted from carrying responsibilities that were never theirs to carry, second-guessing themselves, or waiting for certainty that never seems to arrive. Whether you're struggling with intrusive thoughts, anxiety, perfectionism, difficulty focusing, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you cultivate greater self-understanding, confidence, and psychological flexibility. I also see therapy as building a lasting relationship, not simply solving a single problem. While many clients reach their goals and no longer need regular sessions, life inevitably brings new challenges. My hope is that our work together becomes a trusted resource you can return to whenever you need support. Once we build that relationship, you'll always have a psychologist who knows your story.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Every person has a story, and that's where we begin. If you're seeking talk therapy, the first session is a comprehensive clinical assessment. I'll ask questions to better understand your concerns, history, strengths, goals, and what brings you to therapy. Together, we'll identify the patterns contributing to your difficulties and develop a personalized treatment plan using evidence-based approaches, including ERP, CBT, ACT, I-CBT, mindfulness, and other integrative therapies. The first few sessions are an opportunity to build rapport, ensure we're a good fit, and establish a strong foundation for treatment. As therapy progresses, we'll adjust the treatment approach and session frequency based on your needs, goals, and progress. If you're seeking a psychological evaluation rather than therapy, we'll begin by discussing what you're hoping to better understand, whether that's diagnostic clarification, an ADHD or autism evaluation, or determining whether accommodations or other recommendations for school, work, or treatment may be clinically appropriate. Please note: At this time, our practice does not conduct pre-surgical, fitness-for-surgery, or other medical clearance evaluations.
