About navigating out of network insurance reimbursement: Insurance plans vary as to their policies. If you need help understanding what your policy covers - in many cases we can contact your insurance to obtain your benefits info and review that with you or advise you what info you need. We provide "superbills" (Itemized receipts for insurance reimbursement) to all patients seeking reimbursement. Here are some key aspects of our approach: Individualized Treatment Plans Collaborative Care Patient Education

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The consultation process takes between 1-3 sessions depending on the individual situation. The first visit is a consultation during which I will gather preliminary information to formulate a beginning clinical impression and treatment plan. Medications are only prescribed where appropriate and if we are planning to work together. I provide comprehensive care collaboration for all patients in my practice, meaning I coordinate treatment with all medical professionals my patients are working with to as to achieve their goals. This includes therapists, primary care doctors, nutritionists, etc. We are accepting new patients on an ongoing basis. If you have questions about our practice, we are happy to answer your questions so that you can know enough to make a decision about your treatment options.

In-network insurances

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $800 for 50 minutes
Ongoing session: $415-600 for 45 minutes
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork

More information on payments and coverage

We are NOT in-network with any insurance, Medicare, nor Medicaid. Additionally, Dr. Batista is considered "opted out" for Medicare and is not a Medicaid provider. This means that neither Medicare nor Medicaid will cover the costs of treatment at our practice - this applies to all Medicare plans including those with out of network coverage. The payment for each session is due at the time of service. If your health insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits for mental health services, you may request that we submit electronic claims for fully paid dates of service on your behalf as a courtesy or we can provide a statement (aka, a superbill) with all of the information needed for your insurance to process claims for your care. In some cases we may be able to bill your insurance and charge you the applicable out of pocket responsibility. In most cases, the patient will be responsible for the cost of treatment and our billing team will instruct all insurance companies to send reimbursement checks directly to the patient. However, please note that if an insurance company does not provide satisfactory reimbursement, it is the patient's responsibility to handle any claim disputes. If you have insurance with out-of-network benefits and would like us to verify the details of your insurance benefits and review them with you, please submit your insurance information through our website or contact us over email to inquire with us. Once on the site, Wendi, a helpful chatbot, will guide you through the process. Kindly input your email and phone number on the contact form if requested, as it will enable us to follow up with you more efficiently. After receiving your insurance benefits information, we will contact your insurance provider and provide you with a detailed explanation. Please note that the chatbot will also try to assist, but it may not always have all the necessary information in which case we will call your insurance to clarify the details of your benefits.
