About Dr. Sharon Vila Wright
Dr Vila-Wright believes that trust and compassion are key aspects of the doctor patient relationship. Originally from Puerto Rico, she spent most of her childhood in South Florida. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Rice University and was a member of Will Rice College. She earned her medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine, and subsequently completed a General Surgery Internship at the Baylor College of Medicine. After realizing that she wanted to focus on women’s health, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Pennsylvania. During her residency she received multiple teaching awards including the resident teaching award and the medical student teaching award from Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine. She believes that taking care of patients is an honor and a privilege. While enjoying all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynecology, her special interests include minimally invasive surgery, and providing a positive and memorable pregnancy experience. Dr Vila-Wright joined Dr Aurora Gonzalez and Associates in August 2014.
