She earned her Doctor of Medicine from UTMB Health - University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed both her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida. Tell us what makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider. As a physician, I have the privilege of combining my two greatest career interests, teaching and providing excellent care for others. The most prominent aspect of healthcare that I focus on is prevention. My goal is to care for others who need guidance, individual health education, and support with their life priorities. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The role of the primary care provider is to guide a patient's healthcare journey through collaboration, education, and recommendations. There must be an understanding that referrals to specialists may be necessary, but the primary care provider will coordinate patient care, explain what is being suggested by specialists, and help the patient remain at the center of their healthcare decisions. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family playing indoor and outdoor games, watching movies, or just listening to music and dancing. If time permits, I like to engage in a good book!
