About Dr. Sona Kalra

Dr. Kalra brings extensive experience in glasses and contact lenses as well as the management of diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, and many other ocular diseases, including keratoconus. In addition to holding a Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University), Dr. Kalra holds a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has trained in highly respected clinics around the country including the Albert Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, The University of Kentucky Department of Ophthalmology, and the UNC-CH school of medicine. He was also trained with the world renowned Dr. Edward Boshnick at the Global Vision Rehabilitation Center, in Miami, FL, where he had extensive training in restoration of vision and comfort lost as a result of refractive eye surgery, keratoconus, corneal transplant surgery, and several other corneal conditions. Dr. Kalra is now the only Optometrist in the local community who can fit Keratoconus patients in Synergeyes Lenses.
