About Dr. Spencer Cooperman
Dr. Spencer Cooperman is a fellowship-trained, board-certified Sports Medicine physician specializing in the non-surgical treatment of joint, tendon, muscle, bone, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
He cares for athletes, active adults, runners and endurance athletes, as well as patients who simply want to move with less pain and stay active. His approach focuses on identifying the underlying cause of pain and developing an individualized treatment plan designed to improve movement, recovery, and long-term function.
Dr. Cooperman has extensive experience treating acute sports injuries as well as difficult or chronic musculoskeletal problems. His clinical interests include shoulder, knee, hip, ankle and foot injuries; tendon disorders; overuse injuries; running-related injuries; arthritis; and return-to-sport care.
He is experienced in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures, including injections and orthobiologic treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP). He also incorporates osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) when appropriate.
As an endurance athlete himself, Dr. Cooperman has a particular interest in running and endurance medicine, including gait and biomechanics evaluation, injury prevention, and helping athletes safely return to training and competition.
He also has experience treating musculoskeletal pain during pregnancy and postpartum and managing sports-related concussions.
Dr. Cooperman believes that successful treatment should go beyond temporarily reducing pain. His goal is to help patients understand why an injury occurred, restore function, and return to the activities that are important to them.

Dr. Cooperman was kind, funny, and personable, with a great bedside manner. He addressed the concerns I was there for, as well as other concerns I only thought of once I was there. Once the visit was complete I was provided tons of information on aftercare as well as ways to get supplies affordably.

Dr. Cooperman is hands down one of the best doctors I have consulted with in the US. A very clear communicator especially when it came to listening to the entire story of my issue. The diagnosis was thorough and the provided path to recovery was clear. No wonder there is such a huge wait time to get an appointment with him.

Dr. Cooperman was very knowledgeable. He explained the examination while he was checking on different parts of my achy joint and took a model after the exam to visually show me what he found. As a visual learner, it was really helpful to have the model to help me comprehend what's going on and he gave ample opportunities for me to ask questions.

Dr. Cooperman is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. I saw him in January after I injured my knee skiing. Dr. Cooperman was so thorough and answered all of my (many) questions after his assessment pointed towards a torn ACL. After my visit, he continued to help me find different potential surgeons after the initial provider I saw had a long wait. If I ever have a sports injury again, I would go back to Dr. Cooperman in a heartbeat.
