A graduate of the University of Illinois, Dr. Threw earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. He completed his residency in Family Medicine before pursuing an additional year of specialized training in Sports Medicine. Dr. Threw completed his Sports Medicine fellowship with the renowned physician team at the University of Louisville, where he cared for more than 650 NCAA Division I athletes across multiple sports. A former collegiate baseball player himself, he is passionate about helping athletes—and non-athletes alike—recover, heal, and stay active. As a Sports Medicine specialist, Dr. Threw provides expert care for a wide range of musculoskeletal issues including joint pain, sprains, strains, arthritis, and overuse injuries. He is highly skilled in musculoskeletal ultrasound and performs a variety of ultrasound-guided therapeutic injections, including corticosteroid and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments. His goal is always to help patients return to the activities they love as safely and quickly as possible. Dr. Threw has served as team physician for multiple sports organizations, including the Louisville Bats—the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. His additional clinical interests include exercise science, nutrition, and men's health and wellness. With a strong commitment to personalized care and a comprehensive approach to health, Dr. Threw welcomes patients of all ages and activity levels.
