“This was my second appointment with Hines Sight. They were super fast and kind and adapted for me being in a wheelchair. I was seen right away and the receptionist helped give me detailed directions when I called before and was unsure of the office location. The assignment was very thorough and helped me feel at ease with every step of the testing. She answered my questions and helped me with transferring to the chair. Dr. Cushing was quick and also answered my questions in a manner I could understand. I left with a trial pair of contacts and a set mailed to my address. He even wheeled me out of the back office himself and wished me a fast recovery. I will definitely be going there again for any optometrist appointments in the future. About Dr. Stanley Cushing

Dr. Cushing specializes in primary eye care and contact lens care, including Keratoconus, astigmatism, and post-surgical contact lens fitting. He is an expert in evaluating and following LASIK patients. Since joining the practice in 1990, he has served as our contact lens specialist. Dr. Cushing also treats patients with a comprehensive protocol for Dry Eye Syndrome, including the insertion of punctal plugs. He is truly an eye doctor who listens to his patients' needs. Additionally, Dr. Cushing is certified to treat glaucoma, eye infections, and foreign bodies.
Dr. Cushing earned his Doctor of Optometry and a Bachelor's degree from Marshall B. Ketchum University, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Pacific Union College. He completed an externship at the Worcester VA Outpatient Clinic.

tech touched my knee multiple times during the exams and overall was INCREDIBLY CREEPY. I have never had a full eye exam from a tech before and I am worried about the quality of the work. Dr. Stanley only came in for the glaucoma test. The whole thing took THREE HOURS. They sit you in an exam room with a commercial for lasic playing on repeat so loud that you're already on edge before you even make it to the creepy guy.
The office is al in a basement where the windows are covered in tin foil and the seats held together with duct tape. The creepy guy tried to push lasic on me and to tell the front desk that I to pretend I'm his long lost neighbor to get a discount? Seriously unhinged. Would not recommend this place to anyone, especially a woman.

The visit was fine, but generally the staff seemed discoordinated:
- The nurse told me I had 20/15 vision but the doctor later told me it was 20/20
- The nurse told me dilation would mean I couldn’t read (and therefore finish my workday) for 4-6 hours _after_ putting the drop in my right eye
- The nurse said dilation lasts 4-6 hours but the doctor said 2 hours
- The nurse said dilation helps the doctor alter my prescription, but we didn’t touch the prescription after dilating

I was a little worried about seeing another eye doctor due to other bad experiences, but once I got into the office everyone was very kind and perfectional. Dr. Chushing himself was great. I felt like I was being taken seriously and he was trying to provide the best outcome. I have since recommended him to other family members as well.

Very thorough exam with somewhat less modern equipment, the assistant did more of a manual work up than I recall ever being done elsewhere. I liked Dr. Cushings’ manner, he double checked all the assistants’ measurements and was professional, attentive, and respectful . I greatly appreciated that. I’d planned on getting some new glasses but I hadn’t expected to get my eyes dilated and could barely see for the next couple hrs.! Thank you.

I went in there for an eye exam and they measured me for contacts and glasses without asking me what I was looking for. I was charged for both and when I stood up for myself and said I was not coming in here for contacts they said I still had to pay it because they had already performed the exam/written the prescription. I am very annoyed and out $50 when I needed that money to pay for the glasses I needed since they were 3 years old and I already had more than a half a year's supply of contacts with a prescription from less than a year ago. I feel like they did not care much for making me feel welcomed or seen.

I had a comprehensive eye exam and talked with the Dr Cushing about my previous laser eye surgery with another provider. He was really helpful and recommended eye drops to help with dryness and sent my exam notes over promptly the same day so that I could coordinate with my laser surgery center. I will come back for future checkups here.

I had a great experience. It started out not so good because they didn't have my appointment, if you're booking on zocdoc call and make sure your appointment is confirmed. I just needed a yearly check up on my eyes and I'm glad I went here, here's a tip elevator is to the right when you walk in and take it down to G. I was lost for a second. They have a few emergencies pop in and the Staff was friendly and they were on top of everything they notified of the delay due to the emergencies coming in and the wait still wasn't very long! They were awesome. Office is friendly lots of laughs would very much recommend.

I filled out an extensive health questionnaire on ZocDoc before showing up and had to fill in similar documents again. My goal was to learn if I was a candidate for Lasik or similar. I spent 4x a typical amount for an eye exam, to learn that the other Dr in the office would make that determination and that'd i have to come back. First appt 3 weeks away. There are better options.

Stanley Cushing and the Tech that i saw for my appointment we’re both amazing. They were both very kind and kept conversation with me. The tech had me laughing the entire time i was there which really helped calm my anxiety about medical visits. They focused a lot on my comfort and answered all of the questions i had. I'm normally hesitant to use a doctor that has their listings "boosted" to the top of the search results on ZocDoc. After doing some research, I put that aside and booked with Dr. Cushing, and I'm very glad I did. He and his office staff more than exceeded my expectations, and they will be my go-to for anything eye related in the future.

Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. I dropped my credit card on the way out, still partially blind and out of sorts so I did not even notice till I was out of town and saw that they had called me. Most grateful that they mailed it to me. I have not received my new glasses yet but I am confidant that they did a great job on my new prescription.
I was not asked if I wanted the internal eye picture and I was surprised that it was an additional $50. They were all so great I couldn't complain but I wanted to warn any others if your getting an eyes checked for a glasses prescription you don't need to have this picture taken and it should be offered as optional.
The place is very comfortable, easy parking right next to Natural Grocery and the people are the best eye exam I have ever had.
