When booking your appointment, please use your full name as it appears on your insurance card. My job is to help you resolve the pain that brought you to therapy. We need to understand what makes you unhappy and why it holds painful meaning for you. Together, we will look for the source of the pain and explore what you might be able to do to change your behavior and thought processes to resolve and escape the hurt. We may work on changing patterns of behavior that are unconsciously self-defeating. Sometimes, seeing things from a different perspective changes a lot. Any changes you choose to make in your thinking or behavior are entirely up to you-I value your autonomy. My approach is cognitive behavioral. I have had success helping people with a wide range of issues, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and anger management, among others. I can also work with those whose mental health issues are complicated by alcohol and drugs. I work with adults, including older adults, and I especially enjoy working with couples. I am a licensed psychologist with over 40 years of experience providing psychotherapy. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. For over 30 years, I was the Director of Mental Health Services, overseeing a staff of more than 150, while maintaining a half-time private practice. Since my retirement in 2012, I have been a staff psychologist at LifeStance. I have served on the board of the Philadelphia Society of Clinical Psychologists and have been its treasurer. It would be a pleasure to serve you.
