About Dr. Suhas Tuli
Suhas Tuli, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained in corneal and refractive surgery. She specializes in refractive small incision cataract surgery with accommodating, diffractive and toric IOL's. She is one of the few corneal surgeons performing DSEK (Descemets Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty) surgery.
Dr. Tuli chose ophthalmology as her career to be "able to make a difference to people." She also chose to be an ophthalmologist because it is one of the few medical specialties that represent the fine balance between the art of surgery and the knowledge of medicine. She has published extensively in peer reviewed ophthalmology journals, and has book chapters to her credit. In addition, she has spoken at several ophthalmology meetings; her field of expertise being corneal wound healing after refractive surgery. She studied this under the tutelage of Drs. Walter Stark at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Tuli completed her clinical fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery from the Doheny Eye Institute at USC (University of Southern California) following her ophthalmology residency. She has performed cataract surgeries in charitable eye surgery camps in India and plans to continue doing so. She has also taught residents at the Doheny Eye Institute. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

The doctor was rude and impatient. Felt talked down upon. I ended up saying “Thank you very much and have a great day” before walking out halfway through the visit. Mrs. Tuli could have been dealing with a rough day and I understand that, but aren’t we all.
The front desk staff was very pleasant! I really enjoyed their hospitality!

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a medical professional due to the following reasons:
1) Dr. Tuli and her staff member kept pushing these eye drops that "if you buy it from this special vendor that we recommend, it'd be more economical than purchasing from a pharmacy." Though I did not say yes or no at the clinic, they sent my information (my phone number) to subscribe to this medicine anyways, then I got calls from them for a week, before I blocked them.
2) Dr. Tuli made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. She was unempathetic when I blinked my eyes when we first started the eye test and the machine touched my eyeballs. She said to me "Why did you blink? Had you not blinked, we would have been done right now." So I do sincerely apologize for naturally blinking when something touches my eyes, Dr. Tuli.
3) The staff was not able to confirm whether my insurance was in coverage and asked me to call the insurance on the morning of my appointment, in Dr. Tuli's office. Don't get me wrong, the Staff members seemed friendly, however, I was not able to figure out whether my insurance was in coverage until the morning I showed up, and asked me to call my insurance company on the morning of my appointment.
4) What I had to pay was not transparent. This is partly my own fault to not research carefully before booking my appointment, but just a heads up to everyone: Dr. Tuli is an Ophthalmologists instead of an Optometrists, which may cause the insurance to not cover all of your visits.

Went in for a full work-up due to possible glaucoma. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The office was clean with fancy state-of-the-art equipment. Insurance was easy breezy. And I got great results!

The wait time was very efficient, the office is clean and her office staff is sweet and patient. But that’s about as far as I can go with my positives. I’ve never had such an unpleasant interaction with a doctor before. She cut me off before I was even able to finish telling my symptoms and possible health complications, she insinuated I just wanted a “quick fix” unprompted when I asked about information on treatment options, and on top of it when I asked about the price of treatment (because medical bills can be expensive and it’s important to know what you’re getting into before doing anything!) she told me she had “no way of knowing that” and made it seem like trying to find the price of treatment was impossible. I’ve never been to a doctor that won’t at least give me a ballpark estimate or send me to someone in billing who might know more. After pushing she said her billing person was not in the office and could contact me, but they never did. I never once felt like she took the time to care about my eye health or underlying causes, I left feeling belittled and not even fully confident with my diagnosis since I was not actually listened to. I was supposed to have a follow-up appointment with her and I can guarantee I’m going to someone different. I would tell anyone I care about to NOT use her for their eye care.

They were quick and efficient (granted I had a very early appointment, so it wasn't too busy). Dr. Tuli easily diagnosed what was wrong and provided a solution within minutes. She was a little harsh in her bedside manner and a little intense at time, but happy that it was quick.

Professional and pleasant atmosphere. You can usually tell by how you are treated by the receiving staff how you will be treated by your Physician. I was treated with great care and attention by the staff, and even more of the same from Dr. Tuli. She knows her field and is very attentive. Bless her for being a doctor who truly listens to the problem, then thoroughly uses her skill to find a diagnosis and treatment! This was my first visit, but she came highly recommended and I quickly saw why!
