Getting to know Dr. Susan Bush
Birchwood Clinic provides virtual and in-person mental health services to adults in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago. Our comprehensive approach strives to empower each client to achieve balance, clarity, and overall health and wellness. Our areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, women’s health issues, grief, life transitions, and relationship concerns.
We also treat those with other health-related issues such as cancer, ante- and post-partum depression, fertility issues, and coping with medical conditions such as chronic headaches. Our approach with clients is holistic in nature as we strive to promote overall personal wellness.
Through a flexible therapeutic environment that honors the uniqueness of each individual’s experience, Birchwood Clinic's aim is to empower our clients to live in accordance with their values and goals and to develop meaningful insights, growth, and change. Our collaborative approach is open and informative, and our goal is to create a space where clients can feel supported and understood.
Our clinical expertise is supported by advanced training, including a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University.

As a clinical psychologist, I work with adults navigating some of life's most demanding transitions. I can help you get to the root of your issues, build genuine insight, and reconnect with your motivation and sense of self so you can move forward in a way that actually lasts. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, stress, and relationship concerns. I also specialize in new parents, IVF/fertility treatment, postpartum depression and anxiety, and perimenopause.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine, collaborative partnership: built on trust & empathy, and focused on where you actually want to go.
