About Dr. Tamer Seckin

Dr. Seckin is among a very limited number of accredited gynecologic surgeons in the U.S. with advanced training for Deep Laparoscopic Excision of Endometriosis. While others perform basic laparoscopic surgery, few have the experience to sharply dissect and remove all endometriosis, from superficial to deeply infiltrating disease. Over two decades treating thousands of women, most have experienced long-term relief and no recurrence. Dr. Seckin earned his Doctor of Medicine from Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tip Fakültesi. He completed his internship at the State University of New York, Buffalo, followed by residencies at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Sisters of Charity Hospital. He worked with renowned surgeon Harry Reich, MD, pioneering surgical techniques including excision of endometriosis, bloodless myomectomy for fibroid treatment, advances in hysterectomy and oophorectomy, and more. He has also advanced translational medicine for endometriosis through progressive graphical technologies, essential tools for healthcare practitioners and researchers. Dr. Seckin developed and patented surgical instruments for exigent excision of endometriosis and authored numerous contributions in leading medical publications. With actress, model, and author Padma Lakshmi, Dr. Seckin is Co-Founder and Medical Director of the Endometriosis Foundation of America (EFA). The EFA educates physicians and women about the disease and early diagnosis; it also supports research on causes and treatments of endometriosis. In addition to helping patients worldwide through his surgical, academic, and charitable work, Dr. Seckin is a faculty member and active speaker on endometriosis at medical conferences globally.
