Getting to know Dr. Tanja Ketisch

My approach to therapy is to provide a warm, open, and accepting environment. I collaborate with you in establishing treatment goals. I do not believe that one type of treatment works for everyone. Therefore, I offer an integrative approach based on your needs, resulting in individualized treatment. I am also a certified Yoga Instructor and incorporate relaxation into my therapeutic approach. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology, which informs my comprehensive and client-centered practice.

What should a new client know about working with you?

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and mental wellness. Therefore, I have been trained in a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation, as well as several brief interventions. I consider my practice open and accepting to all, and I emphasize respect for individual diversity to include sexual, gender, and relational diversity, such as sexual and affectional identity/orientation, transgender issues, and polyamory.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I strive to make you feel safe and comfortable. I strongly believe that to be effective in what I do, there has to be a connection and relationship with my clients. I work with you to explore what we hope to accomplish together. The key is making you feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire process. I listen closely to you and strive to create a “therapeutic alliance” and a positive working relationship.

  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due at the time of service. Online sessions must be paid in advance via the online platform. Cash, check, and all major credit cards are accepted for payment. Presently, I accept Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and United Healthcare insurance plans. As a courtesy, Mind Balance Psychology Center, LLC will bill your insurance company for services rendered. However, it is not guaranteed that your insurance company will follow through with its original Explanation of Benefits (EOB). Insurance benefits have become increasingly complex due to the rising cost of healthcare. Sometimes, insurance companies will change benefits without notifying me as a provider. They may also change session limits, deductibles, or maximum allowables. This can make it difficult to have claims paid. Please note that your insurance company will require me to disclose certain information about you in order to receive benefits. This always includes a diagnosis. In addition, they may ask for information pertinent to treatment, such as the treatment plan, current psychosocial stressors, and level of functioning. Out of respect for your privacy, I will disclose only the minimum amount necessary to justify services provided.
