About Dr. Tasneem Maner
Dr. Maner specializes in comprehensive eye examinations with an emphasis on all ocular diseases, emergency care, contact lenses, and dry eye management.
She completed an accelerated health professional program in which she earned a bachelor’s in biology at Villanova University, and then graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During her graduate years, she was a member of multiple Optometric Honor Societies. She routinely volunteered at vision pop-up clinics and traveled for service trips including Angels for Sight, which provided eye care screenings to underserved children and veterans in Compton California, as well as a Onesight trip to Mexico, which provided comprehensive eye exams with free spectacles to over 3,000 underserved patients. In 2017, she received the VSP Global Dr. Poston Leadership Award for her service in eye care. She continues to provide free eye exams for refugees in Baltimore city in partnership with CASA Baltimore and the MOA.

The Fort Belknap Native American Reservation in Montana
Neuro-optometry at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia
Veteran Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina
In Maryland, she completed a residency in Advanced Ocular Disease with Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates. Between 2021- 2024 she worked as the main optometrist for Mercy Medical Center, a hospital in inner city Baltimore, in affiliation with Katzen Eye Group.

I highly recommend this office. Everyone took the time to explain what was happening, the results of the different tests, and the different options in terms of glasses and contact lenses. This was a very thorough appointment. It takes a lot to impress me, but I was blown away today! I will go back and I just recommended that my husband book an appointment ASAP.

I had a great experience with Dr. Maner and Alex today! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. They were both super friendly and made the whole visit really easy and comfortable. Dr. Maner took the time to explain everything, answered all my questions, and gave me direction to someone who can help with my specific condition and Alex was awesome the whole way through. You can tell they really care about their patients. Definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a great eye doctor!

Wonderful experience! I’ve never had such an informational eye appointment. They had new tech so I never felt any air puff and they had extra readings that showed the health of my eye. Super informative and very accommodating. I was seen right away too which never happens. Fantastic work! :)

The doctor is amazing. She is kind, considerate, attentive and patient. She explained everything in detail, answered all questions and was very thorough. The receptionist was pleasant, polite and helpful. The woman who performed the eye tests before I saw the doctor was unprofessional, unpleasant, impatient and rude. She huffed and puffed, rolled her eyes, sighed and complained. Her poor behavior ruined what would have otherwise been an excellent experience.

It was absolutely amazing. I was seen almost immediately and everyone I spoke to was highly personable and friendly. I have never felt so informed and taken care of. The tech and the doctor were both very transparent about my care and showed me pictures from my scans to help me understand what was going on. The optician who helped me select my frames was very engaged and eager to help me find the best frames for my face, coloring and prescription. It was all around a very pleasant experience and I recommend them highly.

This was my first experience with Looking Glass Optical and Dr. Maner, and to say I was impressed would be an understatement. The facility is beautiful, the equipment is state of the art, the staff is highly professional, and Dr. Maner is simply the best. Dr Maner is great! She took the time to explain my condition and answer all my questions. I've had this diagnosis for years and that was the first time it was explained to me clearly. She is also very knowledgeable and discussed treatment options and set a follow up schedule we were both comfortable with. Highly recommend!

I am always impressed by Dr. Maner’s professionalism and warm demeanor whenever I visit. She is incredibly kind, compassionate, and truly listens to her patients. You can tell that she clearly cares about her patients and their well-being. She takes the time to explain everything clearly and makes sure you understand each step of the exam. Not only is Dr. Maner incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, but also has a way of making you feel at ease. I highly recommend Dr. Maner!
