“Dr. Teresa Lam was extremely helpful. She was able to catch a very serious conversation early on (optic neuritis) and sent me directly to the emergency department for MRI. There, they confirmed that I did indeed have optic neuritis and they also found a few spots on my brain. It's possible that these spots are an early sign of Multiple Sclerosis. Nothing is conclusive yet, but due to Dr. Lam's knowledge and expertise, if this is MS, it will have been caught very early on. Thank you so much, Dr. Lam. I will refer everyone in need of an optometrist to you, and I pray that your business remains very successful. God bless you!

Meet owner and lead optometrist of Refocus Modern Eyecare, Dr. Teresa Lam. Although born in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Lam spent most of her life growing up in Tucson, Arizona. She attended the University of Arizona (Bear Down!) for her Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering. Dr. Lam earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Marshall B. Ketchum University. After graduating, she returned home to practice optometry in Arizona.
Dr. Lam's hobbies include hiking, traveling, enjoying Phoenix Suns games, and trying out new places to eat. She has two wonderful dogs, Spartacus and Mila!

Visit was amazing. Greeted by the staff in a friendly disposition . There was no wait at my apt time. Assistant did the pre exam items in a friendly and professional manner. Dr Lam was fantastic. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she was able to convey the information so I was able to understand. She gave me more information about my eye health than any other eye shop I have experienced in the past. She gave me options on my care and suggestions for me to make my own lifestyle changes to help improve my eye health. The assistant helping me to select glasses was friendly and willing to listen to my current style as well as give suggestions to alternatives. She went on line to look for options that were not in the store.
My overall experience was great and I would recommend this shop for anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable optical shop. Thank you Dr Lam and associates.

I had a truly excellent experience at ReFocus Modern Eyecare with Dr. Teresa Lam. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and very professional. The office itself is clean, modern, and well-organized, which made the entire visit feel comfortable and efficient.
Dr. Lam was fantastic—thorough, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood each part of the eye exam. I never felt rushed, and she patiently answered all of my questions with care and clarity.
The technology used during the appointment was impressive, and the frame selection was stylish and diverse. I left feeling confident about my eye health and really appreciated the personalized attention I received.

The Dr and tech were great, very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I thought the pricing of the frames and the lenes were high. A first time and my insurance was billed almost a grand and myselg a third of that for reasonable frames and slightly better lenses. The staff was great I was just taken back by the pricing.

Dr. Lam + the entire supporting staff are true GEMS! Everything was super simple, convenient, timely + thorough. Doc’s “bedside” manner is out of this world and truly second to none. She was SO GENUINELY patient with my son who is getting contacts for the first time.
Would absolutely recommend to EVERYONE in the valley! She’s worth the drive from anywhere! Oh, and great selection on frames, too!
