About Dr. Thane Wedum

Thane Wedum, DPM, is a podiatric physician with specialized training in sports medicine, wound care, and limb salvage. He earned his Bachelor from the University of Texas at San Antonio before obtaining his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Wedum then completed a rigorous three-year surgical residency at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. During his training, Dr. Wedum gained extensive experience treating complex wounds and preventing limb loss, often utilizing biologics and advanced healing techniques. He is board-qualified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and is passionate about helping patients return to active, healthy lifestyles through personalized and attentive care. Originally from San Antonio, Dr. Wedum is proud to serve the South Texas community he calls home. He believes that taking the time to understand each patient’s unique situation is essential to delivering the highest standard of care—a philosophy he brings to every visit at Evolve Health.
