About Dr. Timothy McCarthy
PLEASE NOTE: A primary care referral is needed for patients with HMO plans. A referral from your primary care provider must be faxed to the office at least one day prior to your appointment date.
Dr. Tim McCarthy has been in practice for 8 years and specializes in general ophthalmology, focusing on the treatment of medical and surgical diseases of the eye. He treats all eye diseases, including glaucoma, cataracts, medical retinal problems, and emerging eye conditions. His patients range in age from pediatric to elderly, although he sees pediatric patients only for certain conditions—please contact the office if you have any questions.
Dr. McCarthy earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University. He completed his residency at St. John Oakland Hospital and a fellowship at Gossage Eye Institute and Optical.
He believes patient education is the key to a successful treatment plan. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, biking, and listening to music.
