Getting to know Dr. Tracy Simon

Therapy is a process to help you better understand yourself and your experiences, so that you can move through life in a more meaningful way. My approach is focused on expanding self-awareness; in addition to our conscious thoughts, we are all motivated by ideas and feelings of which we are not consciously aware. I will work closely with you to explore these underlying feelings, and the impact they may be having on your life. Through consistent, confidential sessions, psychotherapy can help both diminish suffering and enhance the fullness of life. I am a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst. I completed my predoctoral training at St. Mary's Medical center in San Francisco and my psychoanalytic training at New York University. I supervise clinicians in training, volunteer with asylum seekers, and served at the Director of a NYC Sept 11th trauma program. I treat adolescents, adults and families from ethnically and racially diverse backgrounds. I work with a range of struggles including anxiety, depression, trauma, family and relationship conflicts, infertility and reproductive technology, acculturation, grief and issues surrounding gender and sexuality.
