About Dr. Veena Devaraju
Dr. Veena Devaraju (Dr. D) is a dedicated podiatric physician and surgeon with specialized training in minimally invasive bunion correction, sports medicine, foot and ankle trauma, wound care, and diabetic limb preservation. She is passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and believes in working collaboratively with her patients to help them return to the activities they love.
Dr. D was born in Davenport, Iowa, raised in Flower Mound, and is proud to be back home in Texas serving the Dallas-Fort Worth community she grew up in. Being able to care for the same region that shaped her journey into medicine is both meaningful and deeply rewarding.
Dr. D earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas and received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. She completed her surgical residency at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where she was chief resident in her third year and received the 2024-2025 Resident of the Year & Academic Excellence award. She trained extensively in both conservative and advanced surgical treatments. Her clinical experience includes treating a wide range of patients across all walks of life and cultural backgrounds, allowing her to approach care with empathy, adaptability, and respect for every individual’s unique needs.
She is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), and the AO Foundation.
In her free time, Dr. D enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog, as well as playing tennis, gardening, and serving her local community.

Dr D is amazing! She is friendly, patient, passionate and great at explaining things out. I had X rays done at the practice and she took the time to explain and give recommendations. I didn’t feel rushed. Left with a brace on (that she also fitted multiple times on me) and feeling good about coming back!! Highly recommend.

Staff and Dr D were very good and professional. the only issue (which seems to be common in most of my Drs visits are that I'm left alone a bit too long in between visits once I was place in the exam room, but professioanlly the visit was very positive, thorough and I believe my medical issue is well on its way to being resolved/healed.

Zocdoc is the truth! I was able to book a same day appointment for my 82 year old father who had a podiatric issue. Dr. D as she is affectionately called was absolutely the best. Her bedside manner is phenomenal and her staff is so friendly and professional. I highly recommend Dr. D and my Dad loved her.

First visit was a success! Dr. V had me walking out of there almost pain free! One note is that the “arrive 15 mins prior” doesn’t quite work for an 8a appointment. I showed up at 7:43a and the staff wasn’t there yet!
