Dr. Vincent Chou is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate, collaborative, and personalized mental health care. Raised in Queens and Long Island, New York, as the child of first-generation immigrants, he developed a deep appreciation for the diverse experiences that shape each person's life.
Dr. Chou earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Northwestern University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University California. He completed his psychiatry residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego and is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Originally planning to pursue emergency medicine, Dr. Chou discovered his passion for psychiatry through the meaningful relationships he built with patients. He values creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
During his service as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, Dr. Chou cared for active-duty service members, veterans, military families, and civilians in both the United States and Japan. These experiences strengthened his ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and reinforced his commitment to culturally sensitive care.
Dr. Chou uses an individualized approach that integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic principles, mindfulness, and meditation techniques. He works collaboratively with clients to develop practical strategies, increase self-awareness, and support lasting personal growth.
Outside of work, Dr. Chou enjoys traveling, staying active through sports, exploring different cultures, and trying new cuisines.
