About Dr. Vivek Mallampalli
Welcome! I'm Dr. Mallampalli, an optometrist practicing in Newton. I earned my Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2019. Since then, I've enjoyed helping patients with their primary eye care needs and have developed a special interest in myopia prevention, specialty contact lens fitting, dry eye treatment, and vision therapy. My background includes experience in both general and ocular disease-focused practices. Originally from San Diego, CA, I also hold a BS in Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego. I went in just to re-obtain a glasses prescription more accurately (after 2-3 years,) and had such a pleasent experience despite such anxiety about the eye doctor. Everything was thoroughly explained to me before it was anywhere near me, and Dr. M was fantastic, kind, patient, and even walked me through what he was doing and what he saw/found out from each test. Such a great experience and took under 30 minutes all together.
