“Teresa was very kind and a pleasant to work with before I saw the doctor. This was my first exam at this clinic. Dr. Stoltman was very thorough and informational. He saw that I had the start of cataracts and was able to relate that back to long steroid use for chronic hives. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Katie and Tonya were both extremely helpful! I was able to get some trial contact lenses that day and more were ordered. They worked together to assist me in a timely manner. I had a GREAT customer service experience!!”

About Dr. Warren Stoltman

Warren J. Stoltman, O.D. grew up in Brainerd, MN. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, and then his Doctor of Optometry from Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. While at Ohio State, he was president of Beta Sigma Kappa, an optometric honor society, and earned the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award for his class. Dr. Stoltman is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Minnesota Optometric Association. ?I love being an optometrist. During my day, I can help a 6-month-old see their parents clearly for the first time, discuss diabetic concerns with a patient's eye, help a teenager with their first prescription for contact lenses, or help a patient understand how cataract surgery can improve their vision while reducing their need for glasses. No day is ever the same. Helping people with their visual and ocular health needs has been a very rewarding profession.? Dr. Stoltman enjoys being part of the Buffalo community. He is involved in the Buffalo Rotary Club and has served as club president. While he has enjoyed volunteering for local community projects, he has also spent time internationally volunteering to provide visual and ocular health care alongside other local medical providers through Mission Jamaica. Dr. Stoltman is married to another optometrist, Dr. Amanda Stoltman. They have two teenage boys and a British Lab named Brutus. In his spare time, Dr. Stoltman enjoys many outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, shooting, and golfing.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. My tech was a great listener and Dr. Stoltman was very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional, yet friendly & personable.
Teresa was very kind and a pleasant to work with before I saw the doctor. This was my first exam at this clinic. Dr. Stoltman was very thorough and informational. He saw that I had the start of cataracts and was able to relate that back to long steroid use for chronic hives. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. I had a GREAT customer service experience!!
My husband and I were supposed to have back to back appts. We did not!! Just regular yearly exams. Ended up being there for over 2 hours. We drive 25 miles for your services because we trust Dr. Not acceptable for us to have to be there that that long. Wait was due to poor scheduling!!!!!
I like notifications/reminders, but there was an abundance of them for this visit. My recollection may be overshadowed by the fact that my visit needed to be rescheduled because of inclement weather, but there were NUMEROUS notifications.
The service is always great. I was disappointed that with the new ownership that all of my family’s insurance and family health data was not ported over and I had to go through this tedious process of an iPad that I have no idea how many people touched during CV19. This is not a demerit upon the Buffalo staff; rather a demerit upon the new ownership / record management/ billing/ new entity.
Only my second visit wit Dr.Stoltman, so used to seeing Dr.Melgard. Lauri was so helpful, kind, knowledgeable & patient with my contacts situation & got it all worked out! Thank you Lauri!! (Not sure if her last name, and if I spelled her first name correctly, either!)
I have been coming to your office for many years and I also used to bring my mom. You have always been very thorough with my checkups and explain everything. Everyone has always been very helpful and gone above my expectations.
Most of all and most times, everything great from staff the care itself, the explanation of things, so on.. Just one little blip from last Tuesday’s visit, the aide/nurse who brought me to the room to see Dr. Stoltman had me read the chart on the wall without my contacts in, I told her that it’s impossible without my lenses, but she proceeded to move forward and do both eyes???? Why???? I didn’t understand!!!
Because yall find things regular M.D.'s dont. Dr. Stoltman found my neuro issues and I found out I have M.S. due to his care...who wouldnt recommend a dr who can do that? Now he has found other nerve problems behind my eye and I am seeing your surgeon. Your staff and Dr. Stoltmans patience with us is amazing! I would be cussing people who cant pick from one image to the next, but he just deals with it and goes on. Didnt hear one note of impatience in his voice. Thank each and every one of you that had to deal with me and the rest of us that day & everyday!
The front desk staff so was welcoming. The lighting in there was amazing! Dr. Stoltman was not only very kind but asked a lot of questions to better understand my issue. His assistant Was cute and funny! Loved the whole “happy” atmosphere.
Overall, for years I have always had a positive experience with Dr. Stoltman and staff. However, I made an appt for my 9 mo old son to have his eyes checked at the same times as my annual appt and it was a very poor experience this yr. For starters, when booking I asked for our appts to be together, then when we checked in found out there was someone booked between us. Also, front desk staff made me check in separately then my husband who was holding my son. At the time the appt was booked, I had no clue my son's eyes would be dilated for 10-12 hours, which I believe is something very critical to inform parents at the time of making the appointment - if our appt would have been in the morning, not sure how he would have made it through the day. Please be more considerate in the future. Thank you.
We made our annual appointment last year and upon arrival, we got this big run around on how we booked online. Which we did not - we booked on site in your office at the front desk. The reception gal rambled on about how those staff were fired and she apologized for "the convenience" I believe she should be trained on some discretion. Everyone was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We got bounced from one room to another, then to picking out frames, then back to other rooms, etc. They said another patient had to get infront of us because of some ride issue but super frustrated because there was no regard for our time. When seeing the frames/lenses gal, she said the kids package was phenomenal and we had to buy the frames and lenses which would be much more cost effective than just lenses. We have a pair that are brand new from your office. After all the sales pitching and extreme pressure to buy both frames and lenses, it was less than $15 difference
While no one really “rushed” us out, it didn’t seem like our visit took as long as they have for the last 10 years or so. The exams weren’t as extensive as they have been either. For example the red and green test wasn’t done nor were the wiggling fingers test.
I have been going to this clinic for many years.I have limited finances. Dr. Stoltman has been very understanding and supportive, plus the quality of the care he has given me. This time I was so thankful to learn that there is a value package available for eye glasses. The staff member who assisted me was very understanding, cheerful and helpful. I wish I could remember her name, I will be ordering new glasses soon.
I am very pleased with the service received by Buffalo Eye Clinic. This was the first time I had seen Dr. Stoltman. I had been a patient of Dr. Melgaard until he retired. I thank all of the staff for the excellent service they give to everyone.
Dr. Stoltman has been my optometrist for many years. He is very caring and does a great job clearly explaining everything. I highly recommend him.....especially, when he suggested the options of cataract treatment. He is my "go to" eye doctor!
On the same day as my daughter’s yearly visit we ordered her contacts. It took 6+ weeks and at least three phone calls for follow up to have them come in. On the first three calls I was told in a matter-of-fact way that I just need to keep waiting because that’s how it is. On the final call a very nice person agreed this was not normal and said she would finally follow up. Two days later her contacts were in. Then when my daughter went to pick up her contacts she came home saying how rude the desk staff was to her. The final person that actually helped her was friendly, but my daughter said she doesn’t want to go back in there next time. We will not be ordering glasses or contacts from here again.
Dr. Stoltman is very thorough with his yearly examinations and office visits. In the early stage of macula he detected early stages to my husband and directed him to retinal physician for further treatment. Also, he spotted an issue on my last visit to recheck my right eye in 8 weeks! He listens to his patients and answers their questions and lastly, he takes whatever time is needed to cover any issues or concerns! He is an excellent doctor!
I had not been to the eye doc for 30+ years. I wasn't sure if my vision could be corrected. Now I can see like never before. I can't think of anything that needs to be changed... Thank you ... You guys are amazing!
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I have been going to Buffalo Clinic for years. i had to pick a different Dr. after the one I had seen for years retired. I had heard very good things about Dr. Stoltman. The staff is very helpful and pleasant.
I was scheduled for a test that I just had at my last visit, some records error according to clinic, and because we didn't do that test I ended waiting in the reception area for my scheduled appointment with my doctor. My scheduled time for the doctor visit was 10:45 but didn't happen until 11:20. I made a comment that things must be busy today but was told due to the testing not being done, my doctor visit time was changed in order to ensure adequate time was available to complete the required tests for my appointment. Answer didn't seem to make much sense because I didn't even do the tests that were originally scheduled so doesn't seem why that would affect the original time of the scheduled visit with the doctor. Anyway, doctor visit finally happened and all is well until my next visit.
I arrived several minutes early because snow was falling and blowing, and I left early to drive to the clinic from Maple Lake. The staff greeted me kindly and allowed me to complete preliminary paperwork and tests before the doctor arrived. Dr. Stoltman's exam seemed thorough and he answered my questions completely.
The actual service provided by Dr. Stoltman is and always has been outstanding and the staff has always been friendly and professional. However, this is the second time in a row that the time scheduled for my appointment with the Dr. and when I actually was seen by the Dr. was greater than 30 minutes. Even after coming in early to complete other tests. I was placed in an exam room and sat waiting. They need to do better on scheduling.
The thorough exam and detailed care. Friendliness. Expertise even in fitting new glasses and help with finding frames that fit your face. I have total confidence in the care I receive from Dr. Stoltman, his assistants and the entire staff.
Dr. Stoltman is very friendly and thorough. His assistant was also knowledgeable. The front desk made me sit down and wait to check in and seem to have forgotten me. Also felt rushed out of the appointment with the doctor when an assistant came in and pretty much stated they appointment was over
I just sometimes feel pressured for example: are you sure you want the drops to dilate the eyes? For only $39 we can use the computer program. When the eye exam is done we are escorted directly to/with sales representatives to buy glasses when I say no I want shop around I feel guilty asking for my prescription copy!
The staff is very friendly and professional, and knowledgeable. The facility was clean, nicely decorated, and modern. There was a big selection tion of frames. I could get my eyes checked without having to be dilated due to the up to date equipment
Dr. Stoltman was fantastic. The only issue I had with the staff is they are not very attentive when people walk in the office - they are too busy talking to each other before assisting the customer (This has happened multiple times)
Front desk was very friendly and efficient. The assistant who took me back to the treatment room was very efficient, but a little short with me. I'd gotten the message to bring my contacts and glasses to the appointment but was not made aware by ANYONE that I needed the BRAND and POWER of my contacts, or the Dr couldn't see me. I was trying to see if I had a pic of the box on my phone and she was irritated I couldn't find it. Then I decided to call my previous clinic for that info but had to wait a few minutes for someone to call me back with the info. I mentioned that when emailing and calling to confirm appointments, patients should be told that this info is needed... not just to bring the contacts and glasses with.
I think Dr. Stoltman is very good. But the ladies in ordering and glasses fitting need lots of help. When you can't see out of your $1000 glasses, some thing has to be addressed. We came in many times to have them adjusted, I would show them where I could see good, and they practically laughed at me. My Husband will probably never come back.
I had a concern w/ my eye and Walmart Vision Center (Buffalo) would not see me. They told me to go to another clinic. So I stopped in and was able to get in right away. I ended up having to go to Plymouth to have a laser procedure done. THANK YOU for taking the time to look at my eye!!
