Getting to know Dr. Wendy Morrison
Dr. Morrison has over a decade of experience providing individual therapy and psychological assessment. In addition to private practice, she is a Senior Staff Psychologist at the University of Denver?s Health and Counseling Center, where she provides therapy, crisis intervention, assessment, and outreach to students, faculty, and staff. She coordinates the Psychological Assessment Program, overseeing assessment and testing services specializing in Learning Disabilities and ADHD. She collaborates with the University?s Disabilities Services Program (DSP) and the Learning Effectiveness Program (LEP), and teaches and supervises doctoral interns and trainees in assessment and psychotherapy.
Dr. Morrison holds an adjunct faculty appointment in the PsyD program at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of Denver.
Her experience extends beyond university settings, including work with diverse populations at the Jefferson Center for Mental Health, a Denver community mental health center; a middle school; a non-profit trauma clinic; a residential treatment center; and internationally with children in Quito, Ecuador.
Contributing to and staying current with research is important to her. She has published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal for Social Action in Counseling & Psychology and the Journal of Personality Assessment, and presented at national conferences including the American Psychological Association and the Society for Personality Assessment. She also serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Colorado Assessment Society.
Dr. Morrison earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology and a Master?s in Counseling Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She also holds a Master?s in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University and a Bachelor?s degree from Muhlenberg College.
