Philosophy of care I consider myself an educator. It's my responsibility to educate patients about the medical problems they're facing. It's also my responsibility to teach people how to prevent medical conditions and maintain their health. Why I entered medicine When I was 12 years old, my grandmother slipped on the ice on Thanksgiving and broke her hip. The family doctor came to the house, cared for her, and made arrangements for hip surgery. After surgery, her doctor called to tell us she had a heart attack and passed away. That's when I said to myself, ?If I could do something to prevent another family from receiving a phone call like that, I will have done something with my life.? Education and training I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I completed my internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital. Personal interests I enjoy the outdoors?hiking, camping, and canoeing.
