Getting to know William Kuntz
I do not accept patients with Medicaid insurance. I hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Missouri.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I use a variety of counseling techniques and generally take a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy.
I work with children age 4 and above, adults of any age, families, couples, and organizations.
For Christian clients who want biblically-based counseling, I am trained to provide that. I will not push my own beliefs or use your counseling time to discuss issues of faith unless you so desire.
I have a systems theory approach to family therapy and use the Gottman model in couples counseling. I will listen more than talk, but I will be fairly directive regarding what I think will help you. I do not practice psychoanalysis and don't believe a purely passive listening style is in the best interest of my clients. I will usually take confidential notes while we talk mainly to help me remember important issues you discuss with me.
I cannot prescribe medication but can talk with your doctor or a psychiatrist about what types of medication might be useful.

Was a very nice chat with a licensed therapist. Believe it helped me realize that I associate with a lot of people who are only concerned about themselves and never really bother to ask how others are. Really great communication and boosted my spirit a bit after leaving. I am looking forward to speaking with him again.
