About Dr. Yale Fisher

Dr. Fisher is a clinical ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal diseases. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University and completed an internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. Dr. Fisher's career is noteworthy in patient care, teaching, and research. He is the author of several textbooks in vitreoretinal diseases and ultrasonography.
He has published more than 50 scientific articles and numerous exhibits and posters. For over 22 years, Dr. Fisher served as a course director for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and was a review editor for many prestigious ophthalmic journals. He has received numerous awards for national and international professorships and lectureships, including the coveted Senior Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Fisher has lectured extensively across the United States and abroad on ultrasonography and vitreoretinal surgery, developing new techniques and instruments, and pioneering ocular endoscopy. He was selected by departmental chairmen and section chiefs at major ophthalmology centers nationwide as one of the 400 best retina doctors in America.
He has developed numerous intraocular surgical instruments that have advanced vitreoretinal surgery, including electromagnets and endoscopic techniques for cases where microscopic visualization is limited or impossible.
Recently, Dr. Fisher launched a novel and extensive instructional website for educational purposes.
