She then earned a PhD in cardiovascular diseases from a combined research program between Wuhan University Medical College, and the New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities, Staten Island, NY, where she served as a junior research scientist in the Department of Neurochemistry. After establishing herself in the U.S., Dr. Liu performed a residency in internal medicine at the Mount Vernon Hospital, now called Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital in Mount Vernon, NY. She also completed a training program in hormone replacement/optimization therapy to be certified in advanced bio-identical hormone therapy. Prior to joining Atlantic Health in June 2024, Dr. Liu served as a primary care and hormone therapy physician affiliated with hospitals in northern New Jersey. She speaks English and Chinese Mandarin. Dr. Liu is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
