About Yong Shin

Yong was raised with many physicians in his family, one of his most influential figures being his father, an ENT (otolaryngologist) physician who inspired him to be a western physician. But Yong had a special interest in holistic medicine since college. Soon after he graduated UCLA with a Biology BS degree, he went on to study the Traditional Chinese Medicine at Yosan University in Los Angeles- one of the most prestigious TCM College in USA. After achieving an acupuncture license in California, he was trained for pain management and treatments under both Eastern and Western doctors. He moved to Richmond VA during COVID for a better environment for the family. After years of practice Yong now firmly believes that acupuncture can be the last missing puzzle piece of pain management for clients that are seeking a breakthrough solution. In his leisure time, Yong enjoys his time with his wife and two sons. Yong especially likes to play golf with his sons on the weekends. Yong is nationally certified by the NCCAOM and Licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine.

This is the first time I had done acupuncture and I feel like decades of pain has been fixed. I highly recommend.

Everything was wonderful and I felt very comfortable and so relaxed after every visit. I would definitely recommend Providence to everyone.
This was my first acupuncture experience and it was wonderful! I felt comfortable the entire time. Very knowledgeable and informative. Highly recommend!
My experience was very positive! I had come in with chronic knee pain from quad tendonitis and I underwent several sessions of acupuncture-- with noticeable improvements every week. I had no problem finding his office, and I was seen right away upon arrival! It was very easy to communicate with him and I recommend his office to many of my friends.
My experience has been amazing. 10+ years of chronic pain has been significantly reduced almost to zero after 8 weeks. I highly recommend!
Had an excellent introduction to acupuncture with Yong Shin. He walked me through the process and targeted some painful areas that had been bothering me for a while. Overall a great experience!
As a person who’s been through a life-threatening car accident and still suffering from chronic pain, I have been treated by many acupuncturists around the world (including Asian countries). With all that being said, surely I can testify that his skills are impeccable. Usual pain from injecting acupuncture needles are significantly reduced. Yong is not only meticulous in his practices, but also extremely empathetic, caring and treats patients with the genuine heart.
