“Dr. Yuko is Empowering, Intelligent, Warm, Authentic, humorous, Direct and Open-minded. I have never experienced such a therapist as she is-I have grown so much in just a few sessions, surpassing all of the other years of therapy after meeting for two months. She is amazing!! She is my last therapist, she is helping me do the actual work that needs to be accomplished! She is real and I actually like her humanness and as a person. This is not a requirement of therapy, but it helps to create a human connection and she is very good at this. I appreciate Dr. Yuko and her knowledge of attachment, and social relationships very much!!”

Getting to know Dr. Yuko Ouchi

I work online with older adults (above middle age) because it makes my work more effective. My sole focus in this online work is "Trauma and Grief." I do not work on solving problems, teaching skills, or addressing various other issues online. Dr. Yuko is a California and Wyoming licensed psychologist who has been working in mental health since 1998. She earned her PsyD in Mental Health Counseling from the California Graduate Institute. Dr. Yuko's psychodynamic psychotherapy aims to help people become more aware of themselves and gain psychological strength (self-confidence) so they can discover their future and the meaning of their lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy is a collaborative process. The way I like to explain it is, "you are the driver in the car and I am your compass." My expectations is that you would come into therapy engaged and we would work together to address your issues. If you come upon any barriers, we would explore them together and figure out how to overcome them.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
