Growing up in rural Arkansas, Dr. Lamkin knows the importance of affordable healthcare. After graduating with honors from Southern Arkansas University, he became certified in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and worked as a surgical neurophysiologist in spine and brain surgery. After several years of working in neurosurgery, Dr. Lamkin was accepted and attended Des Moines University's College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with an academic scholarship. After graduation, Dr. Lamkin attended a 3-year surgical residency that specialized in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Lamkin received unique training in foot and ankle surgery under the guidance of podiatric, general orthopedic, and foot and ankle orthopedic surgeons, as well as outside rotations in emergency medicine, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, and dermatology. Dr. Lamkin appreciates the ability of the human body to heal complex issues under the correct circumstances and always exhausts all conservative options before considering surgery.
