About Dr. Ziad Abbud
Dr. Abbud received his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Medicine from the American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine in Lebanon. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and his Internal Medicine residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He then completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (where he served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow), and a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Toronto.
In 2002, Dr. Ziad Abbud founded the American Heart Center PC, which has grown to be one of the most successful and respected medical practices in New Jersey. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Nuclear Cardiology, and is also certified in RPVI through the APCA. Dr. Abbud is proud to be appointed a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at UMDNJ, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During his career, he has been selected as the Medical Director for the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Bayshore Community Hospital, as well as the Angioplasty program at Jersey Shore University Hospital and Riverview Medical Center. He has served as Co-Chair for the cardiovascular research program at the Meridian Health System Cardiovascular Steering Committee. Dr. Abbud is a principal investigator in multiple clinical trials, has published numerous papers in well-respected medical journals, and is a nationally recognized lecturer in the field of Cardiovascular Disease.
