Everything was great with the exception that at the end of the appointment we were left in the room and told to wait and then they forgot about us so we ended up waiting there for almost an hour. That was unfortunate, especially as my husband had a lot of things he needed to do, other than that, we were very happy with the visit.
The place has the tiniest waiting room you will ever see, and you will probably wait at least 45 minutes to see the doctor, but he is really a great doctor and is very compassionate and smart.
It was quick and Dr Silver and his staff are very friendly! Overall a positive experience.
The office was surprisingly clean, updated, and nice; I found parking on a side street right nearby. The women behind the counter were very helpful in getting me the paperwork, and getting me started. The nurse that took my weight, history, and checked me in (she also took my blood later) was extremely nice and friendly. I only wish Dr. Martinson had been half as friendly. I'm extremely nervous during annual exams and PAPs because I've never been able to get comfortable with a doctor (constantly moving) and they're very painful for me. Dr. Martinson asked standard questions, talked about my history/method of contraceptives, and we started the exam. She did use a smaller speculum when I told her that the standard one hurt too much, but she wasn't nice or patient about it. She was very brusque and more interested in getting the exam over with than making sure I was comfortable. I guess she did her job, and that's all I can ask her to do. But she was also very curt with me about getting my prescription renewed (it was, admittedly, my fault I forgot the package) and warned me to call the nurses with it ASAP because she wasn't going to be in the office for more than another hour or two. She was about 30-40 minutes late to my appointment (I was sitting in the un-airconditioned exam room in those flimsy paper things waiting.... and waiting), too. So I guess really make sure you're on time for your appointment! The nurses and atmosphere alone are worth going here, but Dr. Martinson didn't really seem to care about me as a patient. She just wanted to get in and get out. BE WARNED. This office also changed my appointment without calling me to confirm it or ask! I booked my appointment through ZocDoc and the next morning I had an email saying that my appointment time had been changed. The people at ZocDoc were very nice about it, but it wasn't their fault. The nurse (Vanessa) also made my follow-up appointment without first asking what date/time worked for me. I have a really flexible schedule so it didn't matter either time. Just be wary of that!
The office was clean and modern with a giant TV that was playing a children's movie. The bathroom could've used some attention (trash can full, out of hand paper towels, tp dispenser broken) but it wasn't dirty or smelly. I arrived 25 minutes prior to my appointment scheduled for 3:00pm for posible paperwork. Even though I filled it out on zoc doc, they said they didn't receive it, I arrived early assuming that this might happen. I took less than 5 minutes to fill out and return my paperwork. I was not called until about 3:20, I was seen by the actual doctor at about 3:55 (after urine sample and vitals with assistants). I was done with Dr at about 4:05, he was fast but thorough, asking plenty of questions throughout my exam. I was hesitant to schedule with a male Dr but there was a female assistant present during exam which made me feel comfortable. He excused himself for being late, said he just came back from hospital from surgery, which may or may not be true. I know Dr's/staff like to use that line (or similar) as an excuse for running late (I've worked at a dr's office with a hospital wing and surgeries). All in all I felt I was attended to properly and did not feel the staff were rude at any time. Given the amount of people in the waiting room, my wait was not that bad.
Longer wait time, but Dr. Kong is fantastic. She was empathetic and personable. The first gynecologist that I've been to that didn't judge my choices to not use birth control. Efficient with her time while also problem solving a few challenges I was having. Highly recommend her!
She's so great! Obviously very knowledgeable and honest. Friendly and never makes me feel awkward about about my issues. The receptionists are also always helpful and friendly.
Given this was my first prenatal appointment, I was extremely nervous scheduling a visit with a doctor I had prior rapport with nor recommendations for. But I could not have been more pleased with Dr. Kang. He and his staff exceeded my expectations in every way. His bedside manor and general amicable deneanor were exemplary. He put me at ease immediately, answered all of my questions and provided me with a bag full of information for my pregnancy and baby. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking an OBGYN in the area.
The reason for the long wait time wasbecayse she was calked for c section. She returned and got caught up in no time flat.
