What should a new client know about working with you?

I am an agender, intersex, queer, abolitionist therapist. I believe that transformation is possible for everyone, healing can begin anywhere, and that no one is disposable. My approach is primarily informed by somatic practices for trauma healing. This means that we will work with your thoughts, emotions, memories, and physical form/sensations to release unprocessed stress and/or trauma. I tend toward solution-oriented approaches—I want clients to understand why they are here and where they are heading. I love working with queer and trans people, and I provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The north star we follow in session is the client’s intuition. Sometimes that intuitive sense can be hard to hear so we might have to practice attuning to it together. Usually, I like to start by understanding what a client’s goals are for therapy. I am transparent in what treatment approaches I’m considering and then the client(s) and I collaborate on what moving forward looks like (session frequency, session structure, other suggested resources, etc). I also like to establish early on what the communal, internal, familial, and/or local resources a client has because this work does not exist in a silo! As our shape changes, the shape of our life changes and the interpersonal systems we interact with change.
