“I feel seen and heard in every space held by him. His approach can go earthly-grounded to divinity as he is able to move through philosophical to practical and empirical approach. Psychotherapy practices oftentimes being super aware and conscious on the personal level, the ego, the behavior of one’s doing, but his practice sits in the middle way between looking in and out. ”

Getting to know Alfonso Beale

Shout out to you for taking the first step! As a therapist, it is important to celebrate my clients as they navigate through life experiences and learnings. I meet my clients where they are and our sessions will focus on where you want to go and how you want to get there. I believe the healing process is an ongoing journey and through collaboration, we will create a space for your full humanity to show up, be seen, be heard, and grow in a brave space. You are the expert of your own experiences. I have foundational training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Person Focused Therapy. My work is rooted in cultural sensitivity, trauma informed, and with a strength-based lens. Alfonso creates a safe space for me to be vulnerable, reflect on my experiences, and process difficult emotions. He never pushes me to share more than I am comfortable with, but always holds space for me to share, which helps me feel extremely safe. He makes me feel fully seen and heard, and is intentional in validating me.
I can't recommend Alfonso Beale highly enough. He creates an atmosphere that feels genuinely safe, judgment-free, and has a remarkable ability to truly listen—not just to respond, but to understand. What stands out most is how easeful he makes everything feel. He balances genuine warmth with clinical insight and always creates room to offer meaningful support. His steady presence, professionalism, and grounded nature reflect the depth of care he brings to his work.
Alfonso is a great listener, he was attentive throughout our conversation and gave great feedback. I appreciate his approach and how he navigated our conversations. I don’t usually open up so quickly to new people but Alfonso made me welcomed, heard and seen. I would definitely recommend him and i am going back to see him again.
If I had to choose one word to describe Alfonso it would be presence. He holds space in a way that allows for deep reflection and clarity, using a powerful mix of thoughtful questions and reframes that truly make you sit with yourself. I left every session feeling supported, seen, and most importantly empowered to make meaningful changes in my life. He consistently reminds me to make space for my own process, and that my self-talk is one of my greatest tools. At the core of Alfonso’s practice is a commitment to community. His approach not only benefits me as an individual, but also inspires me to show up better for my community and my family.
Alfonso consistently creates a welcoming, balanced environment for me to talk through any issues that I’m dealing with. He listens intently, and asks great questions that allow me to approach challenges from various perspectives. This has led to clearer thinking, reduced stress, and has empowered me to confidently cope with challenging situations when they arise. I feel comfortable with Alfonso because he is nonjudgmental and creates a warm environment for folks regardless of their culture or how they present/identify. I can tell he is invested in his clients because he always recalls little details that I’ve shared and challenges me in a supportive way that keeps me accountable for my growth/development. I’d strongly recommend !
I felt seen, acknowledged, and most importantly supported with resources. He provides a gentle space for honesty while holding me to the person I’m becoming.
Alfonso is an exceptional therapist who brings a powerful combination of empathy, insight, and intentionality to every session. He is highly personable and creates a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood. His knowledge and passion, especially around Black men’s mental health, come through in a way that feels both authentic and deeply informed. What truly sets Alfonso apart is his thoughtful and engaging approach. He doesn’t just listen, he challenges you in meaningful ways, encourages deeper reflection, and consistently invites you to explore how you show up in your life. His mindfulness practices and recommendations are practical, grounded, and impactful. If you are looking for a therapist who is attentive, insightful, and truly invested in your growth, Alfonso is an excellent choice.
I’ve had the opportunity to attend several groups facilitated by Alfonso, and from the start, it was clear that he is attentive, warm, thoughtful, and deeply committed to self-care and personal growth. He takes a person-centered approach, is an excellent listener, and creates a space where people feel safe to share and reflect. Topics have included community building, self-awareness, developing healthy relationships, and boundary setting. Sessions often incorporate practices such as meditation, deep breathing, yoga, creative expression, and journaling. I consistently left feeling grounded, fulfilled, and motivated to integrate these practices more intentionally into my daily life.
