Getting to know Allahna Kaj

My approach is deeply collaborative, broad, integrated, and research-based. I’m strongly influenced by Third Wave CBT: ACT, DBT, EMDR, and Polyvagal theories and Somatic Experiencing. The combination of these evidence-based treatments and a strong, working therapeutic alliance brings these interconnected therapies to life. Therapy works. For twenty years, I’ve worked to help folks navigate life’s challenges—depression, anxiety, trauma, medical problems, substance use, aging, and disability. My special passion is integrating and weaving clients' religions and sense of spirituality into evidence-based therapies. I specialize in helping folks manage chronic illness and navigate the changes and challenges we face as we age. I enjoy the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, health care teams, community supports, families and individual patients to enrich people's quality of life and improve medical outcomes.
