Allison Bradley, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi there, I'm Allison! Ever feel like it's all too much? Lots of us do lately. I help people approach life's challenges - both inner and outer - with balance, resilience, and perspective. My goal is to help you find the inner guidance system you need to be who you are fully while skillfully navigating the world as it is. My focus I work with people who are self-motivated and invested in changing their lives, and the world around them, for the better. Many of my clients are survivors of trauma, are from the LGBTQ+ community, or work in creative and change-oriented fields such as visual and performing arts, education, or leadership. My approach I use practical tools from approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment therapy, somatic and existential awareness, mindfulness and meditation, and expressive techniques like journaling and art. I focus on real life, treating day-to-day experience as a "teacher of what needs to be learned". We work together to turn ideas and insight into action. My communication style My communication style is warm and person-centered. I seek to be realistic and grounded, and am not afraid of a little humor from time to time. I help people explore problems from various angles in order to provide the fullest possible understanding. I will prompt you to find your own truth and to identify how you want to approach change. My journey to mental healthcare When I was around 12, I realized that people could choose how they responded to things, and that these choices had a lot to do with how happy (or not) they were. Since then, a primary focus in my life has been helping people get in touch with who they are in a deeper way, and how their choices are affecting life outcomes.
