Psychotherapist

Therapy can be a difficult step, and even more difficult to find a therapist you connect with. I work to develop a therapeutic relationship in which realizations can occur and positive changes can be made. I have experience with both groups and individuals, and my intention is always to help enhance the client's current level of functioning and overall condition. My areas of expertise include behavioral issues, childhood trauma, insecure attachments, familial issues, relationship issues, depression, and anxiety. My approach I utilize a multitude of approaches because I don’t believe one style or method works for everyone, or even for one person all the time. I tailor my approach to each individual and their unique needs. Some common approaches I use include CBT, ACT, mindfulness, Gottman, and Positive therapy. My focus I started my career in the mental health field about 10 years ago and enjoy helping others. I began working with children ages 7-16, providing in-home Behavioral Modification Therapy. After two years and a desire to expand my skill set, I shifted my client base to teenage and young adult boys who were both mentally ill and in chronic foster care. I provided intense individual and group therapy as well as behavior modification. While working with these young men for over three years, I also trained staff in behavioral modification techniques, boundaries adherence, and self-awareness. Additionally, I have supervised staff in areas related to mental illness and substance abuse. I have counseled families and parents going through difficult times, including struggles with mental illness. I continue to utilize my skill set while expanding into mental health consulting. Today, I specialize in behavioral modification for children ages 3-16 and counseling children ages 8-17 through young adulthood..
