Getting to know Andrea Szucs

I am passionate about working with individuals and couples. I use humanistic theories, tools of positive psychology, drama therapy, strengths-based positive interventions, action exploration, and Imago Relationship Therapy. I believe that by developing a deeper understanding and relationship with each other, we can update old models-calibrating goals and creating new ways of getting more of what we want and less of what we don't. I integrate coaching techniques in my therapy to help clients meet their goals. I have a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University and am certified in Applied Positive Psychology and Field Instruction. I am a Board Certified Trainer in Drama Therapy. I am the author of peer-reviewed journal publications and the co-creator of The ACTing Cure Group model for people with intellectual and psychiatric disabilities. I have presented at national and international conferences on using strengths-based positive interventions in action and the use of role theory and role-play. I help people through the lens of mindfulness and spirituality, exploring meaning and purpose. My passion is to inspire hope and maximize potential. I am honored to accompany you to the next chapter of your life. Hope is the only positive emotion that needs something negative or uncertain to be activated. According to the newest research, hope can be learned, activated, and practiced. I work with you to shift your mindset to welcome fulfillment and abundance, becoming your best possible future self. I lead Divorce Recovery Support groups and Building Communication Skills Groups for Couples, starting January 2021. I am also Adjunct Faculty at Fordham University.
