Hi there, I'm Aretha! Hello! I am Dr. Aretha L. Fisher, a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of mental health experience. I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds navigating the challenges and obstacles in their lives. I offer personalized mental health support and evidence-based treatment to empower patients on their journey to wellness. My approach My therapeutic approach is based on the needs of the patient and is trauma-informed. My evidence-based treatment is grounded in an integrative approach that may include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, Behavioral and Acceptance Therapy, and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My focus I offer individual therapy for persons with concerns of anxiety, depression, relationships, stress management, life transitions, LGBTQIA+, trauma, and mind-body wellness. I am committed to providing a safe space for people to process, heal, and become the best versions of themselves. My communication style I provide a safe space to exist. I communicate in a direct, trauma-informed manner allowing for open dialogue in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. Listening attentively, I offer insight and guidance using illustrations to help process experiences, problem-solve, and work toward patient therapeutic goals. My journey to mental healthcare I earned my doctorate from Alliant International University (formerly California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco) in 2007, with an emphasis on gender studies. I have provided care to a diverse population across ethnicity, race, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and medical concerns. I have worked with individuals from birth to geriatric age, including unhoused, transgender, and incarcerated populations. My passions are simple: to help relieve human suffering and to help transform those from hurting to healed.
