Getting to know Asher Feldman

Asher Feldman (he/him/his) recognizes that a “best life” looks different for everyone, and that each person’s struggles are as unique as their strengths. Drawing on his training with systemic therapies and psychodynamic modalities, Asher aims to accompany clients as they seek deeper understanding and transformative change within themselves and in their relationships with partners, family, and others. This often means exploring the unique histories and memories we carry and how “Who we are” flows from “Who we’ve been.” Asher holds a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University. He has worked with clients from diverse lifestyles and backgrounds. His work centers on self-understanding, empathy, and patience as clients explore their own “big” questions: What do I want out of life? What comes next? How do I build a loving relationship with my partner? There are no single answers to these questions. We believe in real, practical Transformative Psychotherapy focusing on more than symptoms, helping each client live their happiest life through Positive Psychology. Positive Psychology is grounded in the belief that people want meaningful, fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within them, and to enhance love, work, and play (Positive Psychology Center, 2016). We use Mindfulness Techniques to help understand your thoughts and feelings and how these manifest in your body: yesterday, today, and projecting into the future. Asher has deep training and experience in a wide range of specialties. We utilize Interpersonal and Analytical Skills to enable individuals, children, and families to improve their lives. Sessions focus on helping clients define and reach life goals. The approach is based on Positive Psychology, DBT, Object Relations, ACT, CBT, and Psychotherapy.. The approach is based on Positive Psychology, DBT, Object Relations, ACT, CBT, and Psychotherapy.

Said on zocdoc my insurance was in network and they accepted it. Told 6 different things. Told before apt. Covered than several times during my time in my session he mentioned not sure how he was going to bill me. Terrible for therapist to do this. Also, blunt and lacked empathy for a therapist. Terribly uncomfortable with this provider. Asked many personal questions with negative undertone indicating evaluating me and not there to help in between comments about billing. So unprofessional, left me feeling worse. Did not provide me with one tool to work with for terrible issue.

Not recommended. Weird office. I am in network, but they Does not take my insurance. Also, don’t believe this is a senior therapist.

I appreciate how easy it is to speak with Asher. He is kind, understanding and objective. It feels like I am speaking with a friend who guides me towards being my best self.
My marriage was in a really bad place when we first started therapy. I am happy to say that we are in a much better place today thanks to therapy. We have also begun individual therapy with the practice and are both feeling very satisfied with our progress and our lives.
I am non-binary and queer and have struggled my entire life to feel accepted in most environments. My fear and anxiety have crippled me for most of my life. I really feel that I am coming out of my shell and learning who I really am. I so appreciate my therapist's support and the safe and non judgmental environment.
I really appreciate how the organization explained my insurance and then took care of everything from start to finish (submitting claims, insurance follow-up, etc). My therapist has really helped me to calm down my anxiety and start living my lfe.
I have been feeling really sad and alone in this world. Never good enough, never smart enough, never attractive enough....JUST NEVER... I really feel like I have found a guide to help me through the challenges that I am facing today.
I was unable to do my job because of my depression and anxiety. This organization helped me to get on disability and then to get back on my feet. There are no words which can really express my gratitude.
I have been caught in a cycle of domestic violence for over 10 years. Afraid to leave because of finances and disrupting my children's lives. I am now in an entirely different life....I left him and found myself. A new job and a safe home for myself and my kids.
I really needed someone who could understand my cultural background and the challenges I have faced growing up in the US as a black male. I found my therapist to be extremely helpful and understanding of my needs. He helped me through some big challenges in relationships family and work. Thank you!
