“I have the privilege of working with Dr. Rosenfeld since June of 2022. I relocated from Illinois to Washington at the tail end of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 when telehealth flexibilities were being lifted. When my therapist in Illinois could not longer see me, she recommended Dr. Rosenfeld who right away did all the necessary paper work that would allow me to continue my care without interruption. She has helped me navigate a new, and challenging, chapter of my life with compassion, candor, and a deep understanding of the long lasting impact of childhood trauma. She has provided me with invaluable guidance and support. Dr. Rosenfeld's professionalism, and expertise, are remarkable. And most importantly, her commitment to my well-being is unwavering. These are some of the reasons why I wholeheartedly recommend her as a therapist to anyone struggling to adapt to the "new normal" amid a politically polarized nation and world. ”

Getting to know Audrey Rosenfeld

I received a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto in Canada and a Bachelors Degree in Social Welfare from the University of Washington. I have been a counselor and therapist for over twenty-five years. I am certified as a Grief Recovery Method Specialist. This is a seven week, one on one telehealth program, specifically designed to help those grieving losses. This could be due to a death, loss of a relationship, pet, job, health or more. I also specialize in counseling individuals with emotional problems such as stress, depression and anxiety. I also work with people experiencing life transitions like marriage, divorce, new babies, career transitions, caregiving, grief and loss, those in narcissistic relationships and difficulties at work. I assist clients who are adult children of alcoholics, those dealing with co-dependency issues, survivors of sexual, physical and emotional abuse and individuals dealing with recovery from drugs or alcohol. I use an eclectic approach to counseling, meaning that I use a variety of techniques to help clients reach their goals. I use cognitive behavioral techniques; a systems approach which looks at the person’s family of origin and the various other systems in their life, family, relationship, job and community. I also use some solution focused techniques, to help you look at what is working in your life and building upon those positive areas of strength. I am an interactive therapist, I engage in a conversation with you as part of the therapeutic process. I usually set up a specific directive approach based upon your needs and I will sometimes assign homework or other exercises, to help you progress to a desired outcome. Other times, it can be very valuable to just be there to support you and to listen.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am an interactive therapist, using person centered therapy to help you determine what you would like to address in therapy. I provide a safe environment for you to talk through your feelings and life experiences.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first session, I will take a history of your presenting problem, symptoms you are experiencing, and goals you would like to achieve in therapy. My work is very interactive, so I work collaboratively with you to help you feel better.

I highly recommend Audrey to anyone seeking guidance, advice and therapy. I have been a long-time patient of Audrey's and we have been through a lot together. She has helped me with my ups and downs and always been there to listen and advise. I always know without a doubt she has my best interest at heart and cares truly about me and my well being. Audrey is very honest with me and I so appreciate that. She is not there to tell me what I want to hear. I know she will always offer up suggestions and guidance in whatever situation I am dealing with. Audrey is very accommodating and works with you regarding scheduling. It is nice to be able to have appointments with her every couple of weeks. She always makes me feel much better after our sessions. She is very genuine and sincere and I can tell she has many years experience. She is very good at what she does and I trust her without a doubt. If you are looking for a therapist and seeking someone look no further than Audrey!
Audrey has been a pivotal component to my mental health journey. I always feel heard and my feelings are acknowledged by Audrey. She provides a great balance between addressing difficult topics along with providing support and insight. I’ve gained a greater understanding of my feelings & emotions and where they are ultimately rooted. At the end of each session I have more clarity on what I can actually control and what I cannot. With a history of trauma and anxiety recognizing this is imperative for my mental and overall health. I highly recommend Audrey!
Audrey is an incredibly experienced, skilled and empathetic professional. She helped me develop individualized tools and strategies for me to use to successfully manage stress, work through grief/loss, and be able to move forward. I’m so grateful to have her as a resource and what she has taught me is invaluable. Having virtual visits makes it easy to connect with Audrey, and meet even with a busy schedule. I wish I had connected with her sooner and can’t recommend her enough to others!
