Psychologist
CA
Hello, I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I am currently accepting new clients and am in network with TRICARE, Medicare, and Aetna. My work is especially focused on supporting marginalized and BIPOC individuals, as well as those navigating identity, family dynamics, and cultural complexity. I also have advanced specialization in perinatal and reproductive mental health, including infertility, pregnancy, postpartum experiences, and the emotional challenges that often accompany these transitions. I completed my doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology and pursued postdoctoral specialization in Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center. I am also a member of the Mental Health Professional Group within the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, which informs my work with individuals and families facing fertility related challenges. My approach is insight oriented, relational, and grounded in evidence based care. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with approaches such as CBT, ACT, and trauma informed care to help you better understand patterns, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change. I believe deeply in the power of the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and able to engage in meaningful self exploration and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in both insight and practical change. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can slow down, reflect, and make sense of your experiences, while also gaining tools to navigate your daily life more effectively. I tend to work at both depth and direction. We will explore patterns in your relationships, emotional experiences, and history, while also identifying ways to shift what is not working in the present. I draw from psychodynamic therapy as well as evidence based approaches such as CBT and ACT, depending on your needs and goals. Clients often come to me when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or are navigating complex life experiences such as identity questions, relationship challenges, or transitions related to parenthood and family building. I bring a culturally informed and nuanced perspective to this work, especially for individuals who may not have always felt fully understood in other spaces. My style is warm, engaged, and direct when helpful. I aim to create an environment where you feel safe to explore difficult topics while also feeling supported in making meaningful change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I focus on understanding what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping will be different. We will explore your current concerns, relevant history, relationships, and goals, while also beginning to identify patterns that may be contributing to your experience. From there, we develop a shared understanding of your goals and how we will approach the work. My process often involves both exploring underlying patterns and building strategies that help you navigate challenges more effectively in your daily life. Ongoing sessions are tailored to you. Some sessions may focus more on insight and deeper emotional work, helping you understand how past experiences and relationships shape your present. Other sessions may focus on more practical strategies for managing anxiety, improving communication, or navigating life transitions. Throughout our work, I will regularly check in on your progress and adjust our approach as needed. My goal is to help you not only feel relief, but to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and build lasting change that continues beyond therapy.
