Brittany Nicholson, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi there, I'm Brittany! Hi! I'm Brittany Nicholson, and I hold an NY Mental Health Counseling license. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University, Brooklyn. I conduct my sessions with a strength-based approach. My approach I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health; therefore, I utilize a variety of techniques such as Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Psychoanalysis. My focus I support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, trauma, and life transitions. My communication style With a warm yet affirming approach, I create a judgment-free space that will help you build your emotional intelligence, challenge distorted thoughts, and encourage critical thinking. My journey to therapy I find the mind extremely interesting and multi-faceted. I enjoy learning and seeing the different ways the thoughts of others help formulate their opinions and impact behaviors. My goals for you I guide and encourage all of my clients to be fully engaged in the goal-setting process. Think of me as your personal cheerleader, where we will identify patterns and replace them with healthier ones. My first session with you First sessions can be overwhelming for some, and I acknowledge that. During a first session with me, you can expect a warm yet affirming approach where you are in control and encouraged to ask questions as they come to mind. I will ask you about your expectations of treatment and me as your therapist, in addition to goals you would like to address.
