Getting to know Bruce Parker

In a 1970 red VW bus with a large yellow "YES" painted on the rear panel, I traveled across the country several times while in graduate school. This is emblematic of how my life has evolved. I have accepted opportunities as they came to me and been shaped by them. I went through a Ph.D program, leaving after getting an MA in Social Psychology. I established and ran a stained glass studio, owned a toy store, owned a real estate brokerage and then went back to school and obtained another MA degree, this one in Social Work. All this while I was developing different aspects of my personality, eventually to use them in my Psychotherapy practice. My practice is eclectic in nature, and I work differently with each person who comes to work with me, utilizing the different learning and experiences that I was fortunate enough to garner from my life. I consider myself a guide, a teacher, but not one with an expectation that my client must do what I suggest. Rather I try to identify and honor my client's personal needs and paths, trying to help them to be open to their life's currents and eddies, while supporting their strengths and suggesting ways to build other strengths.
