Carrie Grochow, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi there, I'm Carrie! My name is Carrie Grochow, and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from New York University and completed my undergraduate studies at Emory University. I believe that the work of therapy is about developing a healthy relationship with oneself and with others in your community to live a good and meaningful life. By providing a safe and non-judgmental environment, I can help you achieve this goal! My approach I prefer to take an eclectic therapy approach because I believe every client is an individual with specific needs. I can use cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion-focused therapy, attachment therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy. My focus I primarily work with new moms suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety. I’m also comfortable working with adults facing infertility, life transitions, relationship issues, anger management, social challenges, self-esteem, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, parenting, child/adolescent development, and personal growth. My communication style I provide a warm, open-minded, and nonjudgmental environment to help explore your thoughts and feelings. I also hope to offer a safe, non-judgmental relationship where you can discover the best version of yourself! My journey to mental healthcare I have always been a good listener and enjoyed helping others, so becoming a therapist was a natural career path for me. My goals for you I try to set my clients up for success by starting with a few small, achievable goals. My first session with you During our first session, you can expect to begin building a trusting relationship as we get to know each other through active communication.
