Dr. Cassandra Homick, PhD

Psychologist
WV
Hi there, I'm Cassandra! My name is Cassandra Homick, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist working in the state of West Virginia. I earned my bachelor's degree from Lehigh University and my doctorate from West Virginia University. I offer personalized, evidence-based treatment to help you overcome challenges in managing troubling emotions, dysfunctional behaviors, or concerns with relationship, career, or life transition. My approach I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with my clients. CBT is a structured, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that can help people identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. I incorporate other evidence-based practices into my therapy work including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Response Prevention. In my work with all clients, I remain aware of salient cultural elements and their possible influence on clients’ concerns. My focus I treat children, adolescents, and adults, and I am skilled in treating depression, anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, bipolar disorder, grief, insomnia, tic disorders, and chronic pain as well as concerns related to life stress, chronic illness, substance abuse, and relationships. My communication style I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working together with clients to help them form fresh and healthier perspectives, and to develop and practice effective coping strategies and skills. I strive to provide my clients with a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental therapy space in which they can feel at ease discussing their concerns. My goals for you I dedicate time to genuinely listen to your therapy needs, guide you to identify valued life directions, and set goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound.
